AFC Charvil Pitch Information

AFC Charvil have three playing locations ;

King Georges Field, Sonning
King George's Field, Pound Lane, Sonning, Berkshire, RG4 6XE.

King George’s field is located off Pound Lane in Sonning immediately next to Sonning C of E Primary school. (RG4 6XE)

Coming from the Maidenhead direction on the A4 you go past the Texaco/Wee Waif roundabout at Charvil and then onto the next roundabout at Sonning – a junction between the A4 and Pound Lane. Turn right at the roundabout into Pound Lane towards Sonning village. After a short distance you will approach a pedestrian crossing – turn left immediately after the crossing into Ligugé Way and the car park for King George’s field is immediately on the right.

If you come from the Reading direction on the A4 you need to go past the Berkshire County Sports ground on your right until you reach the Sonning roundabout – a junction between the A4 and Pound Lane. Turn left at the roundabout into Pound Lane towards Sonning village. After a short distance you will approach a pedestrian crossing – turn left immediately after the crossing into Ligugé Way and the car park for King George’s field is immediately on the right.

East Park Farm, Charvil

Coming from the Maidenhead direction on the A4 turn left (first exit) at the Texaco/Wee Waif roundabout at Charvil signposted to Twyford. After a short distance you will see a mini roundabout - turn right (second exit) onto Park Lane.

If you come from the Reading direction on the A4  turn right (third exit) at the Texaco/Wee Waif roundabout at Charvil signposted to Twyford. After a short distance you will see a mini roundabout - turn right (second exit) onto Park Lane.

When on Park Lane you will soon arrive at another mini roundabout which you should go straight across (second exit). After another 200 yards the entrance to East Park Farm is on the left. If you reach a tunnel under the railway then you have gone too far - turn around and the entrance to East Park Farm will be on your right.

St. Patricks Field is located at the end of Park View Drive North in Charvil (RG10 9QY)

Coming from the Reading direction on the A4 you go past the Texaco/Wee Waif roundabout at Charvil (before you get to the Twyford turnings) and the road is on you left (opposite Charvil Village Stores). At the end of this road is a turning place with the recreation ground being a few yards up a track in front of you (it is signposted).

 If you come from the Maidenhead direction on the A4 you need to go past the Twyford turnings. You will not be able to turn right opposite the Charvil Village stores – instead you will need to go around the Texaco/Wee Waif roundabout and approach Park View Drive North from the other Reading direction as above.
